The need to empower and connect communities

By Carlos Miranda Levy - Posted on 08 August 2006

Most remote communities are isolated and incommunicated from each other, which makes them of little value and interest for politicians, government, investors and businesses.

But if we achieve to bring them together, in many countries they account for a significant part of the population.

Information and Communication Technologies can help us transform this disaggregated group of markets and social groups into the often described but seldom seem "bottom of the pyramid" (BOP) holy grail market.
